Problem Statement

Captive technology department of one of the world’s largest mutual fund organisation has rolled out offer to 50 graduate engineer trainees. All of them need to be upskilled as full stack developers on Java stack. Based on past experience, Learning & Development along with Technology Delivery team is looking for options.

In sourcing of Learning is both expensive and takes time

Learning programs on full stack development for fresh graduate engineering talent requires investment of both time and cost. This becomes even more challenging when the business requirement is to make them productive on day 1 of joining the organisation with a hard pressed timeline.  A recent employability report has found that over 80 percent of engineers in India are unemployable as they lack the contemporary technological skills required by employers now. Given this background, the costs in sourcing & learning may not be sustainable for many organizations.

Experiential Immersive bootcamp with mentor driven learning

Organization went for IA Lab’s innovative approach  to power full stack development with graduate engineer trainees. All of them were asked to undertake experential immersive bootcamp for 6 weeks from IA Lab’s facility in Gurgaon.  Structured pedagogy along with customized learning paths were followed on Cloud Lab. Few use cases of the organisation’s business requirements were taken as capstone projectss. 6 Agile / Scrum teams were formed from the batch size. Weekly sprints were followed along with daily scrum, sprint planning, reviews and retrospective. This was followed by a demo day towards the end with senior stakeholders where all the 6 teams showcased their working software.
